We are proud to feature this exquisite bass that is totally hand made by Jens Ritter of Wachenheim Germany. Jens has been propelled into the spotlight of bass construction in part by his featured articles and reviews in numerous magazines such as Bass Player, Bass Guitar and Bass Professor. Jens started his bass building career at the age of seven when he participated in a school woodworking contest where his first guitar consisted of an old food can, some wire and a small piece of wood. He continued to work at his craft until at the age of nineteen he had built his first bass for himself. Jens wanted to make basses with a different design from what he was seeing around him that were essentially Fender Jazz and Precision models. This led him to create his various models with very unique body shapes. Jens believes that all components of the bass must work together perfectly to create the ideal tone from the wood. The Roya bass featured here has a vast array of sounds available to the player as well as terrific balance and feel. It s not only visually appealing, it also functions beautifully as an expressive musical instrument. This is an instrument for the bassist who is searching for something different from the standard offerings.

This instrument is documented in the BunnyBass Musical Instrument Archive.
